Energetic Healing: MYSTIC LIGHT Experience

There’s something about an awe-inspiring setting deep within nature that truly transports the spirit. Think of hidden natural oases, setting the stage for healing and reconnecting with your inner self. That’s why I want to call your attention to the spa at Naia Resort & Spa.

This exceptional gem in Belize transports you to tranquility. As you traverse one inviting bridge to the next, lilypads surround you while lush tropical trees and the whistles of birds set the stage for a true wellness sanctuary. Multi-colored flowers pop against the blue sky and you can’t help but be reminded of the true meaning of connection.

I was really excited about the fresh coconuts offered at the spa, as the water from these coconuts is not like any bottled coconut water I’ve had back home. No, I was tasting the real deal!  Served in the shell or poured in a fresh glass, it is a must-try.

The spa service most unique and beneficial for me was Mystic Light, which takes energetic healing to heart. The room itself opens with views of a peaceful lagoon, welcoming you with a gentle warmth that is soothing and tender. The ritual begins with burning copal and indigenous ingredients from the property meant to clear the energy and any negativity from the environment, and from your own body. The process is called ‘smudging.’ The therapist takes the aromatic smoke around you to cleanse the air. Then, you are given a warm foot scrub, decompressing even further while again feeling enveloped by a tropical paradise all to yourself.

My massage service began with a light touch from head to toe. Not your typical service, this approach is meant to realign your chakras (energetic centers of the body). As my masseuse Claudine placed her healing hands above each center, she worked to open up the chakras and realign them to let energy flow more smoothly. This was in tandem with letting negative or stuck energy out, whisking it away with the flick of her hands along my torso and body. I sank into myself more deeply as the quiet sounds of the crystal bowls playing transfixed my senses. This process continued front to back, head to toe, along with a foot and neck, and head massage. While this style of massage is atypical, I experienced a heartwarming sensation from her work on my ——— chakra, which shifted my emotional body.

Inspiring spaces are critical to our spirit, and that’s why I particularly want to call your attention to this one. I was able to foster a spirit of gratitude resulting from a state of true relaxation and bliss. What grew from that experience was a connection to the all-encompassing human experience. I thank and bless every little thing of my life, and even the problems that I have and have had because now I feel the force of how they have aided my growth. Stretching ourselves is part of life, and putting ourselves in an environment like that at Naia Resort & Spa helps us reconnect with what matters most.

It depends on how many nights you book. It is in Belize so a passport is required. Trust us, it's worth the trip!
